[Podcast] What is… big beat ?
Véritable comète musicale qui a traversé et marqué la seconde moitié des années 1990, sans jamais vivre de revival depuis le début du 21e siècle, le big beat a été notamment popularisé par The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim. Mais il a aussi été alimenté par une large collection de tubes construits sur des samples par des artistes qui ont fait les belles heures des programmations des Trans Musicales et de pas mal de soirées étudiantes dans le monde. Avant que ce style soit récupéré et digéré par le cinéma, les jeux vidéo et la publicité. 25 ans après ses premiers coups d’éclat, il est temps de reparler du big beat.
